How To Order
We accept orders not only through our website, but also by telephone, email, fax, and snail mail. Also, please feel free to visit us in person! Our store hours are 10 AM to 6 PM Monday-Friday and 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday.
If you don't see what you are looking for or need help or advice, please don't hesitate to call us. Our experienced staff is always happy to answer your questions and advise you about the instruments or music you are considering.
Trying Instruments "On Approval"
Choosing an instrument is a very subjective and personal process, and it is difficult to make a good choice without trying the instruments out first. We are happy to send instruments out on approval so that customers who are unable to visit our shop can try them out at home and with other musicians they play with. If you would like to try instruments on approval, please give us a call or send an email and we will be happy to assist you.
We do not charge for this service except for postage and insurance. However, we do reserve the right to charge for service to the instruments if they are returned in damaged condition.
Please remember that the instrument you are trying belongs to someone else, and that used instruments are sold on consignment on behalf of other customers. When trying instruments, please:
-Refrain from eating, drinking, or smoking
-Take care not to damage the mouthpiece areaa
-Take care to avoid thumbhole wear
-Do not attach thumbrests or anything else to the instrument. If you are accustomed to using a thumbrest and need one to determine whether the instrument is right for you, you can tie a piece of cork or other material in place with a string or a hair elastic, as these will not damage the finish. Plastic clip-on thumbrests will scratch the surface of wooden instruments.
-Play the instrument for as long as you need to try it out, but be careful not to play for extremely long periods of time on instruments which may not be well broken in yet.
-Swab out the instrument after playing
Our normal approval period is ten days from when you receive the instrument unless other specific arrangements have been made. Unfortunately, we cannot send sheet music "on approval." Please do not hesitate to give us a call or send an email if you have any questions!
