Mollenhauer Kynsecker Consort, special price
For the Boston Early Music Festival, our friends at Mollenhauer brought a full consort of the newly redesigned consort after Hieronmymous Kynseker, perhaps the most famous surviving 'Renaissance' recorders now kept at the German National Museum in Nuremberg. Here is a link to a fascinating article by Nik Tarasov about the development of the new series:
All of us at the von Huene Workshop were impressed with the new design. The instruments are ideal for early baroque repertoire as well as consort playing, with a full, easy two octave range using standard baroque fingerings (except for the bassett and great bass, which require Renaissance fingerings for the upper notes). We have in stock a full consort from garklein to bassett in beautiful plumwood (except as noted):
garklein ($425), sopranino ($485), soprano ($500), alto in g ($600, maple, but stained dark to match the plum), alto in f ($700), keyless tenor ($850), keyed tenor ($1300), and bassett ($2250, also maple, stained dark).
The list price of this set of eight instruments is $7110, but we're offering the set at 10% off for only $6399. Please don't miss out on this one-of-a-kind opportunity.
