The Mollenhauer Denner instruments are a sophisticated ensemble set developed after original instruments of Jacob Denner (1681-1735) in Nuremberg and Copenhagen. They have a strong, consistent, and flexible tone in all registers. While they blend well in an ensemble, they also have the volume and consistency to be good solo instruments as well. Their low price makes them especially attractive!
For players who have difficulty managing the stretch on a tenor, Mollenhauer produces this model with additional keys on the center joint for holes 3 (left ring finger) and 4 (right index finger). This reduces the stretch required of each hand. Models with extra keys also come with an adjustable thumbrest and neck strap to further improve the ergonomics of the instrument.
